New expansion: Your ideas!

Today we would like to pick your brains a little about possible settings for a new Crimson Company expansion!

After visiting the realm between life and death with "The Other Side" and putting our spin on Norse mythology with "Ragnarok", we're exploring totally new ideas at the moment!

We collected some thoughts already regarding the expansion's setting and a whole bunch of new card effects but your input throughout previous Kickstarter campaigns and in our Discord has always been extremely helpful. We really enjoy not just making this game for you, but also together with you!

So please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas in the comments below or anywhere else where you can get a hold of us! Here are a few questions to get your started:

  • What kind of setting/world would you like to see a Crimson Company expansion in?
  • Do you have any ideas for interesting new card effects?
  • Are there any gameplay mechanisms you think are missing from the game so far?

We're looking forward to your ideas!

Obvious themes will be to continue with various mythological pantheons (greco-roman, Egyptian, Chinese, aztec etc.)
And I would love to see combo effect for when several cards of the same pantheon are in the play area.
E.g. all Greek gods have a little icon to recognise them and some of the Greek pantheon cards will activate only if conditions are met such as if there is already a Greek god in this column or on this side, or on the other side etc.

I would like to see also factions with army like characters.
Arabic factions will have : mamlouk, assassins, sultan, belly dancer ...
Japanese faction : ninja, samouraï , shogun, geisha etc.

And in term of new cards effects, it could be intetesting to see a type of card that you could start your game with , in hand, and that you could play at any time to totally surprise your opponent. At the beginning of the game you could have the choice in between a handful of this type of cards, all the rest will be discarded and will not be part of the game deck. These cards will be like the heroes of your deck and you could only have 1 to use per game.

A classic, vampires werewolves and other creatures of the night.
The werewolfs could have be double sided instead of face-up face-down and vampires could maybe give their victims -1 to strength in the form of counters or other sort of "drain" effects

Vikings or Asian themes would be great. Mechanics that be interesting isn’t my forte but what about cards that summon an extra lane and manipulate it?
